Hybrid Cold Weather Waterproof Referee Jersey

This item is fantastic. I wore it at a cold rainy tournament and it kept me warm and dry. Other referees asked me about it and I told them it was worth every penny and where to buy it. This jersey is fantastic! Now we just need some hybrid socks! Haha

This is the new edition that combines protection against rain, wind and cold. I bought it in Nov 2019. I live in northern NJ, where we do get torrential downpours and cold weather.
Upon receiving the jersey, I was impressed with the material which is thicker than a regular jersey, but not bulky at all. It’s easy to put on and take off and it looks great. The sizing is spot on, and the arm lengths are much better than the OSI ref jerseys. I have an athletic build and this jersey allows me to wear a typical thin under layer, a thin mock athletic layer and a thin jacket.
As far as on the field performance it is definitely wind proof and water proof. I’ve worn it in torrential downpours. Now, the black sleeve cuffs are not waterproof like the rest of the jersey material but I wear wristbands on top of all my ref jerseys and that keeps me completely dry. I also wear a ski neck warmer and again, I don’t get wet. When it’s pouring, the portion of the jersey that is tucked into the shorts does stay wet, but that seems to be because the referee shorts (I wear OSI) retain water. (I sincerely wish the Ref Store would offer shorts to go with this jersey.)
I have a full ensemble of specialized and thin (read expensive) athletic under layers, mid-layers and waterproof/wind proof thin black jackets. Come what may, I’ve always managed to stay warm, but I have to say that because of this jersey, I don’t have to reach for the colder weather gear like used it. It definitely keeps your body temperature noticeably higher than with other alternatives. And it significantly improved my comfort.
I am hoping that this jersey is soon offered in another color (green?), or colors, to avoid potential color conflicts with different teams.
While not perfect because of the cuffs, in all other aspects it is excellent. This jersey definitely sheds water, works quite well and is well worth the money. It is a 5-star product.

I have been waiting for a jersey like this for a very long time! It gets cold and windy up here in Northern Minnesota! the winds are very strong the rain is cold and runs down your back! But with this jersey,I was staying warm and comfortable even though the temperature was 15 degrees! Would definitely order another one especially if it came in Black! a must have for the every-weather Referee!

In early 2019, I purchased two of the cold weather jerseys (green and yellow) that were available at that time from the referee store.

While they kept me warm, I felt like the Michelin man (or Stay-Puft marshmallow man) when I was wearing them.

While I have not yet had the opportunity to referee a match with this new cold weather jersey, it does fit much better and is not nearly as bulky.

I did wear it outside last week when it was raining just to check out how well it would repel the water, and after about 15-20 minutes in a fairly heavy rain, the only thing that was wet was my head.

Our season starts in a couple weeks and I fully expect to be wearing this jersey and staying nice and warm and dry.

Have worn the jersey three times, in the cold, in the wet, and both wet and cold. Stayed dry and comfortable in each. Been looking for something like this for years.

Haven't had a chance to put this jersey in action yet, since our fields will be covered with the white stuff for another month or 2, but I'm very impressed with the material and the way it is made. My only concern that keeps me from giving it 5 stars (preseason anyway) is sizing. I ordered a size larger than I wear, to allow some extra layers underneath, but wish I'd gone 2 sizes larger. It fits perfect with a t-shirt underneath, but if you live someplace like Michigan, and need some bulky layers underneath, you are going to want to go up 2 sizes. An added plus, I'm much taller than your typical ref, 6'2", and have trouble with length in both the sleeves and torso, and this jersey is actually long enough to cover my wrists and to stay tucked in. If this stands up to our sometimes brutal Michigan springs, I will happily upgrade to 5 stars.

Winter in the Pacific Northwest is wind and rain. This jersey allows me to concentrate on the game - I finish wet but not cold.

This is a game changer! I used it in the PACNW winter Tournament. I was dry and comfortable, despite 35 degree temps.

This is a great jersey when the temperature is in the high 30's to mid 40's F or a cold wind is blowing. I wore this with a normal undershirt and stayed very comfortable. If the temperature is colder when a long sleeve undershirt and you should be fine. I bought a size medium and wish I would have bought a large because it does not stretch when you take it off so I have wiggle the jersey off. Have not worn it in the rain yet so I can't say how it works. Wish it came in other colors also.
