Fox Sonic
The slight change in sound is a nice change when used under a mask.

Easy to use. Nice sound.
One of my favorites now. No complaints.

Great sound
The sound: Higher pitch and louder than the Fox 40 Classic. I don't have a ton of practice with it yet, but it really seems to travel a lot farther and really get people's attention when you need to. Good for being able to use various whistle tones.
The feel: this is my first whistle with a rubber grip and I'm definitely still getting used to it. I like the sound enough that I'm willing to work with it. I don't think that is as hard to get used to as the shorter and sloped mouthpiece. I've always used the Fox 40 Classic and the mouthpiece is a bit longer and flat. Again, I don't think this is a negative, just a matter of having used the same whistle for four years and getting used to a new one.
Summary: The sound is good enough quality to try it out and work through the difference in feel from the Classic.
*I did not get the flip grip with mine. Never used one but would like to hear how others like them. -
sonic
Another referee I worked a High School game with used a sonic and it was really loud, so I thought I'd try it. Iv'e always used a pearl but I think the sonic may replace it.

Pretty Good
Solid plastic mouth grips bug me as I tend to bite my whistle. I like the rubber grip on this one. I wish the mouth grip was longer. The tone is unique from other whistles. I like the tone, but it is personal preference. I find it a bit difficult to generate a variety of tones. It is a loud whistle. This has become the main whistle I use in outdoor games.
